Atalanta – PSG

Atalanta will try to do another heroic performance when they face PSG at the Estadio da Luz in a game from the Champions League 1/4-finals. Let’s see what’s going on with these two teams before their fixture in the beautiful city of Lisboa.

Atalanta’s football project is exciting to watch. This club was usually in the midtable of the Serie A, but now La Dea are among the best teams in Italy. During the 2019/20 season they almost scored 100 goals in the league and they are now among the best 8 teams in the Champions League. The manager Gian Piero Gasperini deserves a lot of praise for his work so far.

Atalanta scored 8 goals against Valencia during the two 1/8-final legs against the Spanish side. This proved how easy is for this club to score goals. They will never admit it, but you can be sure that PSG are worried too about Atalanta’s striking force. They must be very concentrated in defense. Players like Muriel, Zapata, Ilicic and Gomez are very, very dangerous.

For PSG it’s all clear – the club will try again to win its first Champions League trophy. Many different managers tried to do it, but they failed. Now it’s up to Thomas Tuchel to lead the Parisians to the trophy. But can he?

During the 1/8-finals PSG lost the first leg against Borussia Dortmund, but they still managed to progress. Neymar and Juan Bernat’s goals in Paris were decisive for the French champion. Let’s see how they will do against Atalanta.

That’s our preview for the Champions League fixture between Atalanta and PSG. The Italian side continues to write history, but now they have a very dangerous beast against them. We must admit that PSG are favourites here, but whoever underrestimates Atalanta will suffer a lot.
