Barcelona – Bayern Munich

Barcelona hosts Bayern Munich in the Catalan capital in a match from the 23th round of the Euroleague – the best basketball competition in Europe. Stay with us because we are going to preview this fixture for you. Here we go!

Barcelona are third in the Euroleague standings at the moment with a 14-8 record. It’s not a secret that they are among the biggest favorites to win the competitions. Barca are 6-4 in their last 10 matches.

In their last game Barcelona faced Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv and managed to secure a 83-78 win at their home. Surprisingly two players from the bench finished the game as Barca’s top scorers against Maccabi – Cory Higgins and Rokas Jokubaitis. They came off the bench and proved how important they can be for Barca.

With this win, Barcelona made amends for their El Classico defeat against Real Madrid. But now they must do the job against the Bavarian giants as well.

Bayern Munich are not having the most successful campaign in the Euroleague. The Germans are 14th in the standings with a 9-13 record. They are 5-5 in their last 10 matches.

In the previous round Bayern Munich suffered a late collapse against Valencia Basket – 73-82. Bayern were competitive for most of the time against the Spanish side, but in the 4th part they suffered a serious dip in their performance. Cassius Winson made a terrific performance and finished the game with 22 points and 5 rebounds, but it seems Bayern were too reliant on him to get the win. Now the Germans must find a way to be a better team against Barca – another tough opponent from Spain they are going to face.

That’s our preview for the Euroleague clash between Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the Catalan capital. The Spanish side is a huge favorite to win here, but let’s see.
