Bournemouth – Watford
Bournemouth’s bad shape made them go down in the table and now they are in the relegation zone, being 18th with 20 points – one point behind the 17th Aston Villa and the safe zone. In their last four games the Cherries only won one point, which is the reason why Eddie Howe’s team got in this unpleasant situation. It’s now time for action, because the danger for Bournemouth is pretty real.
In the previous round Bournemouth conceded their 11th lose for the campaign. The Cherries got crushed with 0-4 by West Ham United at the London Stadium. Bournemouth’s problems with their form is pretty real and they are in a serious trouble.
For the next game Bournemouth will be without the injured Nathan Ake, Joshua King, David Brooks, Charlie Daniels and Arnaut Groeneveld. That’s part of the problem for the manager Howe – too many players are missing.
Watford are a ressurected team under the management of the new coach Nigel Pearson. Since his arrival the Hornets started winning points and now they are dreaming of survival. At this moment the club is still in the relegation zone with 19 points, but Watford are unbeaten in their last four games, winning three of them.
In the previous round Watford recorded their 4th win in the league. The Hornets hosted Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Vicarage Road and celebrated a 2-1 win.
We can make the conclusion that Watford are a team in a much better shape than Bournemouth at the moment. The Cherries’ home advantage is barely an advantage here, because they are in a pretty bad shape right now. Bournemouth need some inspiration, but can they find it against a team in such a good form as Watford?
