Czech Republic – England
The Czech Republic meets England at the Wembley Stadium in a game from Group D of the Euro 2020. This is a direct clash for the first place in the group, so we can’t wait to see it. Let us preview it in these next few paragraphs.
The Czech Republic are currently leading the Group D standings because of a better goal difference compared to the Three Lions. This means that Jaroslav Silhavy’s team needs just a draw against England to officially win the group. But they also know it’s a dangerous thing to play for a draw – especially against such a difficult opponent.
In the previous round the Czech team faced the World Cup finalist Croatia and won an important point after a 1-1 draw. The team’s star striker Patrick Schick scored his third goal in the competition, but in the second half Ivan Perisic equalised for the Blazers.
Some people doubted this Czech team before the start of the competition, but so far they are showing some really solid performance. Now they have a realistic chance to win this group as well.
England needs to win here in order to take the first place in the group. Gareth Southgate’s team had a winning start against Croatia, but in their second game they made a very poor performance during the 0-0 draw against Scotland. The English team was supposed to win easily this one, but the Three Lions didn’t show enough creativity in attack to penetrate the Scottish defense. The captain Harry Kane was one of the poorest players on the pitch, but Southgate would not likely put him on the bench. If he decides to do so then players like Marcus Rashford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are ready to step up.
That’s our preview for the Euro 2020 match between the Czech Republic and England at the Wembley on Tuesday. One of these two teams will win this group, so let’s see which one.
