Hertha BSC – Borussia Dortmund

Hertha BSC hosts Borussia Dortmund at the Olympiastadion in Berlin in a match from the 8th round of the Bundesliga. Let’s preview it in the next few paragraphs, shall we?

Hertha approach this game from 12th place in the standings. The Old Lady have 7 points won so far in the Bundesliga and a record of two wins, one draw and four losses. Obviously this is not the best way they could have started the new campaign, but surely they have enough time and enough opportunities to make an improvement.

In their last match Hertha recorded one of their two wins so far in the league. Bruno Labbadia’s boys paid a visit to Augsburg and clinched a 3-0 win at the WWK Arena. Matheus Cunha opened the score from a penalty kick while Lukebakio and Piatek scored two more after the halftime break. This the way Hertha must perform in every game to satisfy the club’s fans.

Borussia Dortmund are approaching the 8th round of the league from third place in the standings. Die Borussen have 15 points in their record and it’s just Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig who are currently ahead of them.

Just before the international break Borussia Dortmund conceded their second loss for the season. Lucien Favre’s team faced Bayern Munich in the biggest Bundesliga derby, but got defeated with 2-3 at the Signal Iduna Park. Marco Reus and Erling Haaland scored for Dortmund, but once again Bayern Munich showed us they are just outstanding at the moment.

That’s our preview for the Bundesliga clash between Hertha BSC and Borussia Dortmund in the capital on Saturday. It’s only obvious to say that Die Borussen approach this fixture as favourite. Lucien Favre’s team didn’t have enough luck against Bayern Munich before the break, but now they have another chance to show their power.
