Leipzig – Hertha

RB Leipzig faces Hertha BSC at the Red Bull Arena in a fixture from the 28th round of the Bundesliga.

Thanks to four points won in the two games since their return from quarantine break, RB Leipzig managed to keep their third place in the Bundesliga standings. The Red Bulls are currently third with 54 points, still in a great position to chase another participance in the Champions League. The key factor for them would be keeping this level until the end of the campaign.

On Sunday RB Leipzig enjoyed their 15th win for the season. Julian Nagelsmann’s team visited Mainz 05 at the Opel Arena and made a true spectacle by winning the game with 5-0. Leipzig’s biggest star Timo Werner scored a hattrick for his team, while Yussuf Poulsen and Marcel Sabitzer also scored for the visitors.

Timo Werner remains second in Bundesliga’s goalscoring charts with 21 goals scored so far. It’s not a surprise that the striker is wanter by some of Europe’s biggest clubs at the moment.

Hertha BSC returned with two wins from the quarantine. After their win against Hoffenheim, they did the job against Union Berlin with a spectacular 4-0 in the capital derby. Vedad Ibisevic, Dodi Lukebakio, Matheus Cunha and Dedryk Boyata scored for the Old Lady.

Clearly Hertha’s manager Bruno Labbadia is doing a great job in the last few weeks. Thanks to these two wins Hertha BSC are now 11th in the league with 34 points. They won’t have any problems to finish the season comfortably if they keep this level of performance, that’s for sure. Can they make it three in a row now?

That’s our quick preview for the Bundesliga fixture between RB Leipzig and Hertha BSC on Wednesday. RB Leipzig remain favourite, but be careful about Hertha’s great form at the moment.
