Liverpool – Brighton

Liverpool hosts Brighton & Hove Albion with the ambition to win its third consecutive win since the start of the new season in the Premier League. So far Jurgen Klopp’s boys are pretty flawless, having won with convincing display their first two matches against West Ham United and Crystal Palace.

The goal in front of Liverpool is pretty clear – winning the league for a first time since the 90s. It has been a pretty long wait for the Reds and the fans are already pretty much impatient to see their team winning the gold medals. Last season Klopp led Liverpool to the final of the Champions League, proving that he can make this team win against other big teams. Now the question is – can they beat Manchester City for the title?

The Senegalese international Sadio Mane started the new season in a spectacular way, scoring three goals in the first two rounds. Him, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino will once again form Liverpool’s deadly trident in attack.

Brighton & Hove on the other hand began the new season with a 0-2 loss against Watford, but in the second round the enjoyed a terrific 3-2 win at home against Manchester United. It was a great win for Chris Hughton’s side against one of the biggest clubs in the country. Brighton & Hove’s main goal this season is going to be the survival, so winning points against such opponents would really help their cause.

Of course, Brighton & Hove are clear underdogs against Liverpool at the Anfield. The Reds are showing so far that they will hardly be losing any points against the lesser teams. And they shouldn’t, if they want to beat Man City for the title. For Brighton & Hove, even a point at the Anfield would be a pretty much a great success.
