Manchester United – Liverpool
It’s going to be really hot at the Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, because Manchester United welcomes Liverpool in the big derby of the Premier League. Let’s take a look.
Manchester United are a different team since Jose Mourinho was sacked and replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Contrary on what everyone believed, Solskjaer returned the team in the Top 4. Right now United are 4th in the standings with 51 points and a record of 15 wins, 6 draws and 5 defeats. They have 1 point advantage in front of Arsenal and Chelsea, so for them it’s important to beat Liverpool and keep their place in the Top 4.
In their last five league games United are almos perfect – four wins and one draw. In their last fixture the Red Devils enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 win against Fulham away from home. Paul Pogba scored a brace for United, while Anthony Martial also scored at the Craven Cottage.
Meanwhile Liverpool are fighting for the title. The Reds are second in the standings with 65 points, being on par with the leader Manchester City, but also having a game in hand. For them this is a opportunity to get back on top and once again overtake City. But this is going to happen only if they avoid losing at the Old Trafford.
In their last game in the Premier League Liverpool achieved a 3-0 win against Bournemouth at home. Sadio Mane, Georginio Wijnaldum and Mohamed Salah scored for Jurgen Klopp’s team.
During the week Liverpool had a game in the Champions League as well. The Reds hosted Bayern Munich at the Anfield, but the match ended without a winner – 0-0.
That’s what we had to say about the Premier League derby between Manchester United and Liverpool on Sunday. We wish you good luck!
