Napoli – Juventus
Napoli hosts Juventus at the Stadio San Paolo in the big Serie A derby of the 21th week. Can the hosts hurt the visiting champion? It’s going to be a terrific game in Naples this Sunday.
We got used to see Napoli being just behind Juventus in the last few season, but now things are different. There’s some serious crisis at the San Paolo, which is why Napoli are currently 11th in the league standings with 24 points – 27 points behind their next opponent. In their last five games Napoli won only once and suffered four losses.
This is really not the fans were expecting after the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti and the appointment of Gennaro Gattuso. Usually when there’s a change of the manager, most of the teams show some improvement. We can’t say this about Napoli right now.
In the previous round the Azzurri suffered a third consecutive loss in the league, being bettered by Fiorentina at home. Maybe Gattuso won’t finish the season if his team continue to perform like this.
Juventus are once again leaders in the Serie A, thanks to Inter Milan’s mistakes in the last two rounds. The Bianconeri won all of their last five games in the league and they are currently enjoying four points lead in front of the Nerazzurri.
It seems that Juventus’ main man Cristiano Ronaldo is once again entering a peak form. The Portuguese super star scored five goals in Juventus’ last three games in the league, reminding everyone of his abilities. If he keeps this level of performance, then it’s really bad news for Juve’s opponents.
To be honest with you, we expect Juventus to win this game against Napoli in a pretty much comfortable way. Right now the Azzurri are just not good enough to oppose the Old Lady and we are going to see this at the San Paolo on Sunday.
