RB Leipzig – Bayer Leverkusen

RB Leipzig faces Bayer Leverkusen at the Red Bull Arena in a match from the 19th round of the German Bundesliga. This is a good enough moment to take a look at it in the preview that’s about to follow.

RB Leipzig are doing fine this season, even more than fine. The Red Bulls are currently second in the Bundesliga standings. Once again they are trying to prove that they are the best Bundesliga team after Bayern Munich. They currently have three points advantage in front of their next opponent Bayer Leverkusen.

Leipzig are somehow inconsistent lately, though. Julian Nagelsmann’s team won just one of its last four matches – against Union Berlin. In the previous round the Red Bulls surprisingly suffered a 2-3 defeat during their visit to Mainz 05.

It seems that after Timo Werner’s deal to Chelsea RB Leipzig are missing a player who scores most of the team’s goals. Right now Angelino, Emil Forsberg and Yussuf Poulsen are the club’s best scorers this season – they all scored four times since the beginning of the campaign. This is not good enough to win the title in Germany. Just to compare – Bayern Munich’s Lewandowski have scored 23 goals so far.

Bayer Leverkusen are also having a strong season so far. Die Werkself and third in the standings and they are making steps to their big goal – a finish in the Top 4 and a return to the Champions League.

Leverkusen are in a similar shape to Leipzig, though – they have just one win in their last five matches. In their last game Peter Bosz’ boys hosted Wolfsburg at the BayArena, but made a dissapointing performance and suffered a 0-1 loss against the Wolves.

That’s the preview we can offer you for the Bundesliga game between RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen from the 19th round. These are two of the best German teams, but they both have some problems with their shape right now.
