Roma – Viktoria Pilzen
Roma welcomes Viktoria Pilzen in a game from Group G of the UEFA Champions League. Let’s take a look at this clash at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Roma reached the 1/2-finals of the Champions League last season, but now they didn’t start the new campaign in the best way possible. Eusebio Di Francesco’s team suffered a 0-3 defeat during the visit to Real Madrid in the first round, although there’s nothing shameful in losing against Real Madrid, of course. The club’s fans probably hoped for a little bit of a better performance, but in the end it is what it is. Now Roma will have the chance to bounce back and win their first points for the new season.
In the Italian Serie A Roma are also not enjoying the best start. The Wolves are currently 8th in the standings with 11 points and a record of 3 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats. But now they are in a run of two consecutive wins, achieved over Frosinone and Lazio.
Viktoria Pilzen began their participation in the competition with a point. They made a 2-2 draw during the home game against CSKA Moscow and they are currently 3rd in the group standings. Michal Krmencik scored both goals for Viktoria, but these were not enough to beat the Russian opponent.
In the Czech league Viktoria Pilzen are currently 2nd in the standings, being on par with the leader Slavia Praha, but having a worse goal difference. In their last game Viktoria celebrated a win, beating Sparta Praha with 1-0 at home. The only goal in the game was scored by Roman Prochazka after the break.
This is what we had to say about the Champions League clash between Roma and Viktoria Pilzen in the group stage of the competition. Good luck!
