Sevilla – Barcelona

Sevilla welcomes Barcelona at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan this Friday in a huge derby from the 30th round of La Liga. This game could be really important in the title race, so let’s preview it.

Barcelona are still leading the La Liga standings with 64 points won so far. Since the restart of the league after the COVID-19 break the Catalans won twice – against Mallorca and Leganes. They remain a step ahead of Real Madrid, but they are also aware that this visit to Andalusia will be really difficult.

On Tuesday Barcelona hosted Leganes and celebrated a 2-0 win at the Camp Nou. The young star Ansu Fati opened the score for Barca, while Lionel Messi doubled it from a penalty kick. Los Cules didn’t play their best game, but they won which is the most important thing.

Ousmane Dembele remains the only absentee in Barcelona’s team. The French winger is still injured. Meanwhile against Leganes Clement Lenglet returned after suspension and made a crucial interception in the first half of the game. His partner in defense Gerard Pique got a knock in the foot, but we expect to see him starting on Friday.

Sevilla made a 1-1 draw in their last game in the league. Los Rojiblancos visited Levante and the match at the Camilo Cano ended with both teams sharing the points. Luuk de Jong opened the score for the visitors, but Miramon equalised with a late goal for Levante.

Sevilla’s manager Julen Lopetegui is lucky to have a full squad on his disposal. It’d be interesting to see what kind of a line-up he will choose to face the champions.

That’s our preview for the La Liga fixture between Sevilla and Barcelona on Friday night. Sevilla are fighting to secure their place in the Top 4, while Barca are fighting for the title. Both teams will want to win here.
